The Part 95 Ten-Year Renewal Cliff

Under the FCC’s 2017 Part 95 Report and Order, GMRS license terms expanded from 5 years to 10 years. Because licenses granted under the 10-year term began on September 29, 2017, the modern service experiences a complete “renewal void” with near-zero expirations until **2027-Q4**, when the first 10-year cohort finally matures.

This page tracks future scheduled expirations for currently active licenses across the 2027–2036 decade. These are projections from current licence records, not a forecast of how many will renew — see Methodology.
